    3. I am so very interested in the Beverley area of Randolph County. Thanks to Nancy, I have discovered my ggggrandparents and want to know all about them! Daniel JACOBS married Hannah STALNAKER, daughter of Andrew, 21 Mar 1838. Since there are no birth records this early, how about church records? No? Okay, then wills. I have access to a will book for WVA and while there are many STALNAKERs listed, and even an Andrew, he died in 1841 and there is no mention of a daughter Hannah. Does anyone have easy access to the will index? Or does anyone know if it is an easy process to inquire at the local courthouse? I know that in some counties, their employees are overworked and can not take any time to do this type of work, and others bend over backwards to help. I welcome any and all comments/advice. Thanks, Anna D.

I found a few MORRALs listed in the book "History of Pendleton Co, WV" by Oren F Morton - Originally published in 1910. If you have any specifics you want me to look up, I would be happy too. It starts with a Samuel & Mary (Davis) Morral. The last paragraph after all the names reads as follows: The older Morrals left the South Fork early in the last century. William sold to John Evick in 1801. Lair D. was county clerk of Barbour. 3. I am just begiining to do a little research in West Virginia. I have seen many of my family names--Jordan, and Dorsey in West Virginia. My great grandfather-Joseph J. Dorsey-was supposedly born in Rawley Springs, Va., and grew up in Rockingham County. There were many Dorsey's in West Virginia, so I know there must be a tie. The Jordan's were in Shenandoah County, and I have found them scattered in West Virginia. I have researched for several years. Diane Jordan Jones <[email protected]>
