I think the Archives/Culture Center at Charleston has them on microfilm - won't swear to it but I know I've used them somewhere a few years ago. You will find nothing on them in Richwood anymore - for a while you could get some old copies but no longer - we walked the town this summer asking around. Hello, I believe the WV Hillbilly is no longer printing - has been a long time since I've seen a copy. As I recall the long-time editor, Jim Comstock, died a few years ago. Insofar as old issues there might be a possibility of these being available. I will check and post later. Hi Thought I would give this another try. I am looking for a marriage record for a Benjamin Franklin Butler. This family seemed to move around alot. I found him in the 1860 Clay Co. census living with his father Benjamin F Butler. I have been unable to find him between 1860 and 1880. He shows back up in the 1880 Calhoun Co. census again living with his father, wife and son. There is also a 9 year old son that I believe is his but have not been able to verify it. I believe he was married before and maybe his wife died and he remarried. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Peggy

Their children were Nimrod abt 1786 - Rebecca born July 23, 1795 - Nancy 1796 - Charles 1800 - Henry 1801 - Adrin 1802 - Cecelia January 26, 1809 - Mahala in 1806. Any clues or help is greatly appreciated. Look forward to hearing from you. Judi

I'm wondering if anyone has any info on Annis Walker? Is she related somehow to Eli Walker m. Anna Wolford that moved to Iowa? Dates are similar.... Merry Christmas! William Thompson of the North Fork , a brother to John who married Julia Pierce in Orange co. Va.married Annis Walker in Pendleton co. in 1816. William and John's father may have been the William Thompson who married Aquilla Breedin in Orange co. Va. William and Annis Walker Thompson had the following children: George who married Eliza Hartman, Susan who married David Simmons, Willis md? Christina Dolly; Eliza Jordan)Churchville married Mary Dolly), William married Hannah Hinkle, Phoebe Elizabeth, Annis married Job Hartman, and John. Sorry some of that is muddled but it was from notes that I had received on this family. Here is what was sent to me regarding a Nancy: The younger William Thompson of 1810 lived near Franklin at Friends Run and was later known as William the Saddler. He was born in Orange co. Va abt. 1787, son of David and Elizabeth Brockman Thompson and died 1856. He had seven children: four of whom are: Catherine who married Thomas Lawrence, Willis who married Ruhama Lawrence, Elizabeth who married Daniel Simmons, and Rebecca who married Joel Thompson of John. Others may have been Copelin, Morgan and Nancy who married Abraham Simmons. My connection to this family is through Elizabeth Thompson b. 1790 who married Henry Wimer in 1817 Pendleton co. She is believed to be the daughter of William Thompson and Aqulla Breedin from Orange co. Va. I received information on this family from some nice descendants who sent me article written about the early Thompsons. I don't believe we have although I've seen your name before. I am descended from many of the families of Pendleton/Randolph Counties. My grandfather was a White and my grandmother a Summerfield. She was the daughter of Mordecai Preston Summerfield and Martha Jane Waybright. Martha Jane was the daughter of Columbus Waybright and Phoebe Jane Huffman. Phoebe Jane was the daughter of Laban Huffman and Mary Bonner. Mary's parents were William Bonner and Jemima Carr. So you see I am connected with the Carr's. I would be happy to share the information I have if you are interested. Thanks, Bonnie Fretwell
