Marlene, I have been looking through the Fayette County records that I have and have not found any of these people - probably not early enough records. I have some notes from another website that gives the husband of Pheobe French as Thomas T. Clay, born abt. 1795 in Giles Co., died 1859 in Raleigh Co. VA. Their marriage date was given as 25 Feb. 1817 in Giles Co. VA. This researcher also lists Henry Clay as the son of Mitchell Clay Jr., as is Thomas. Unfortunately, there were no sources listed for this information, and when I checked my Raleigh death records for Thomas T. Clay, I did not find him listed. I checked the years between 1853-1880. I'll keep looking, Melissa Bailey Duggins PPerry9426 wrote: > > Melissa, > I will be happy to put some of my Clay info on. I would appreciate the > marriage records being posted also.
