    3. Hi All! For Marlene and anyone else with an interest in the Clay family, here are a few of the early marriages in Raleigh Co.: 2 July 1852 - Ezekiah T. Clay and Martha Peters. Married by Felix Ellison. (No parents listed) 1 Aug. 1852 - James Cantley and Rebecca J. Clay. Married by Felix Ellison. 28 Mar. 1853 - George Cantley and Drusilla Clay, daughter of Charles and Aura Clay. 25 Aug. 1855 - William Burgess, 25, born Logan Co., son of Tandy and Elizabeth, and America Clay, 21, born Logan Co., daughter of Meredith and Nancy. Married by K. Capady. 12 Feb. 1857 - John Patton, 54, born Pennsylvania, son of Peter and Mary, and Lucinda Clay, 18, born in Lawrence Co. KY, daughter of Meredith and Nancy. Married by Claiborne Curtis. All of these are from "Early Raleigh County Marriages" Vol. 1 1850-1870 by Pauline Haga. Pauline has compiled virtually all of the vital records from 1850-1925 in Raleigh Co. and also has cemetery and funeral home records, as well as newspapers photocopied into book form. Happy hunting!
