Hello, my name is Charles Newman. I posted a message a few days ago asking for information on the Alley surname and part of the response I got back remimded me I should introduce myself and let everyone know what lines I am researching. My mothers side of the family comes from the Stanaford/Beckley area. My ggrandfather was Henry James Sorrells, my grandfather was Charles Edward Sorrells, and my mother is Mary Elizabeth Sorrells. I am stationed in Virginia Beach, VA in the Navy so this mailing list is great since it would be difficult to get to WV except on occasional trips or spend a fortune on phone calls. Well that's the condensed version. I have listed surnames I am interested in below. Surnames: Sorrells, Alley, Lusher, Newman. Oh, I think I mentioned it in my last post but I have the census index CD's from the 1600's to the 1800 census and would be happy to look up individual names for people. The CD's don't give specific info on people but they do give roll, page, county, etc. so that you can go directly to them if you have access to the microfilms or books.
