On 10 Feb 1999 (in the wee hours), I posted a query to the Raleigh County list regarding my great-grandfather, John Sauner ATKINSON, married to Mary Martha "Molly" MCGARY. My question was whether or not anyone might know anything regarding the following family: Raleigh Co., 1850 Census, p. 7, Microfilm page 4A, 10 July 1850. 49 Daniel Adkinson 41 M Farmer 500 Va Sarah Adkinson 33 F Va Eliza Adkinson 10 F Va Ellen Adkinson 7 F Va Maria Adkinson 6 F Va Francis Adkinson twin 4 F Va John Adkinson twin 4 M Va Isaac Adkinson 2 M Va A kind person responded with the affirmative, stating that John was indeed the son of Daniel and Sarah ADKINSON. This person also made mention of a marriage between Mariah ADKINSON (ADKISSON) and Van Buren BOWYER. I had a system failure, and lost all mail for the period btwn. 05 Feb and 15 Feb...so I don't have the name of the person who wrote, nor any notation regarding that response. I would dearly love to hear from that individual again! Sorry for the mess! Computer has been in the shop for two weeks, and I'm using hubby's machine for now (eek!). Many thanks in advance!
