First off, hello to all my cousins who have connections to Raleigh and Boone counties, and also hi to the other 10 or 20 here who aren't somehow related, yet, that is. <Big Smile> I have been going at some dead ends and it seems that someone out there will have the knowledge that I don't. One of them is to find the parents of my Great X3 Grandfather, John B. MILLER, born 1809, in Monroe county, VA (died 1899) who married about 1832, Delilah BROWN, born 1811 also of Monroe. They had 8 or more children, including my ancestor, William Floyd MILLER who married Julia Ann GUNNOE and had my great Grandmother, Delia MILLER. This John B. MILLER family was in the Boone county census as #436. As far as my detective work seems to point, they lived on the south end of the county, pretty much on or near the current day Route 26, along the stretch south of Gordon. I have read that there is a Miller cemetery a half mile south of Bandytown, about the middle of that stretch, and it is said to have the grave of a former soldier who may be John B.'s son, Leftridge. Does anyone have more info on all this? I was hoping that if I find the cemetery for his son, it may have him and more of his family, too. I know that some of the related MILLERs are in a cemetery I know that also has some of my GUNNOE's in it, near a mine entrance on Route 85, near Rock Lick and really only about 10 miles from Bandytown, as the crow flies. Thank you for any help and info.
