Greetings, I am looking for information on Robert Thomas WILSON, b.abt 1841 in North Carolina (location unknown) d. 8 June 1882 Raleigh Co WVa. He married Sarah F. STANLEY unknown date and location. She was born abt 1846 in Virginia ( WVa ?). I have seven children 1. George Fenton, 2. John A. 3. Eunice Francis (my line) 4.Parthena J. 5.Jesse R. 6.Louanna 7. Lorenzo. I have him on the 1870 Raleigh Co census as Thomas Wilson in Clear Fork, and on the1880 Raleigh as Robert T. Wilson still in Clear Fork. According to family legends he was in the Confederate Army from North Carolina, but I have not been able to find any information on this. But I can't think of a reason for him to leave "friendly" North Carolina after the Civil War and go north to "unfriendly" Union territory. Any help or information exchange on either WILSON or STANLEY appriciated. Thanks. George E. Stover
