In a message dated 98-10-04 14:11:59 EDT, you write: George, now that my initial excitement has calmed down, now maybe I can relay the info you want to know. << Greetings, I am looking for information on Robert Thomas WILSON, b.abt 1841 in North Carolina (location unknown) d. 8 June 1882 Raleigh Co WVa. He married Sarah F. STANLEY unknown date and location. She was born abt 1846 in Virginia ( WVa ?). I have seven children 1. George Fenton, 2. John A. 3. Eunice Francis (my line) 4.Parthena J. 5.Jesse R. 6.Louanna 7. Lorenzo. After you get done looking at the Family Tree maker website I'll send you my Genealogy report from my records as I've typed into notes most of the very important things that the Crott's sent to me by snail mail. If you drop them an e-mail and send them you're added info (which they'll include on their website) ask them to send you the added info by snail that they sent to Deanna Holm in Sebastopol. The only way I found them was by putting in Lorenzo Jordan Wilson into the internet find boxes. I figured I'd put that in there as it was a little more difficult name which is why I found them. I stumbled over Beckelhimer name on their website and I knew there must be something to this. Sam Wilson migrated with Lorenzo, Robert Thomas and David to Raleigh Co. Sam is listed in the Raleigh Co. census living with Lorezo. The Crott's connection for these families is currently checking out Samuel's 2nd marriage etc. etc. as I had some questions about that. Parthenia's maiden name was Smith (bet you're overjoyed to hear that?) hahah. They migrated up there because of the Civil War, I'm sure, a lot of the family went to the midwest and joined the mormon's in Salt Lake. I have him on the 1870 Raleigh Co census as Thomas Wilson in Clear Fork, and on the1880 Raleigh as Robert T. Wilson still in Clear Fork. My gt. Aunt's have told me his name was Robert but was called Tommy. I have a picture of Tommy and Sarah!! It's not the greatest, it's a scan of a bad photocopy and another cousin is sending me a good copy from a color lazer copier by snail so will send the bad copy now and the better one later. According to family legends he was in the Confederate Army I don't think it was Tommy but his brother David. You'll have to be patient and wait for my file. from North Carolina, but I have not been able to find any information on this. But I can't think of a reason for him to leave "friendly" North Carolina after the Civil War and go north to "unfriendly" Union territory. Any help or information exchange on either WILSON or STANLEY appriciated. We've just been in the middle of the most incredible cooperation of information (the Bailey/Stanley group) I take it you don't know who Sarah Frances Stanley's parents were? Boy, you're e-mail got to the right person, today's your lucky day! Thanks. You're very welcome, I love nothing better than sharing with family. Check our my profile. Deanna George E. Stover >>
