The wife's name is the one you're searching. The surname of the husband is the same. I suspect it is the same person. The error could be in the obituary. I find numerous errors in obituaries, too. Also, check your aunt's and her siblings's birth records, if possible. Maybe you can trace your line by her records or her siblings. So, I wonder if either he or she received Social Security benefits. (Living in (Alma) Tyler CO WV at the time) served in France for 2 years during World War 1 Married Laura Helen GADD (no dates or place of marriage) I looked for Laura Williams, Helen Williams, L Williams and H Williams. Didn't find any one that looked like a match to me. I would think you could find info on his World War I service. A lot of counties have listings of those who enlisted from that county. The National Archives may be able to help you. GADD Laura Helen daughter of THOMAS AND ALLIE (could have been a nickname for AIleen, Alice, Alica, Alberts or Almenia)GADD born Oct. 24, 1893 (obituary states Greenbrier CO.WV but no info at all there) Died on Sept. 12, 1982. (lived in Middlebourne , WV (Tyler Co. at the time) Allie could be the name. Maybe it isn't a nick name. In one of my families, I have an Alice and an Allie. They had 7 children Perry P., AdA Mae, James(known as Jim), Eugene(known as Gene), Robert (known as Bob),Juanita, and John.
