Hello Gracie, I am new to the list and I am just beginning to research my husband's family in Raleigh Co. I know very little and have a lot of blanks to fill in. I would be very appreciative of any help in this endeavor. This is all I know: Thomas Ward, son of Robert Ward came from Greenbrier Co. and settled on Ward Mountain in Raleigh Co. between Glen Morgan and Sullivan. His two sons were Robert and John and they were Confederate soldiers. My husband's father was James William Ward, 1887-1963, who was descended from this family and lived on Ward Mountain. He married Myrtle McVey, 1897-1985. I think James William Ward's father was named Gilbert, but this could have been a middle name. Any help with this family would be greatly appreciated.
