You are correct. Nellie Gray was the "maid" to George and Ines. She had 5 children with George. Her oldest child, Hazel Arthur, is my husbands grandmother. Another interesting fact is that Nellie and her brother Robert Richmond ( May 1891) were also illegitimate. Her mother is Julia A Richmond (Sep 1868-??? 1920) and she never married and always lived at home with her parents who were Henry A Richmond (9 Aug 1845-5 Jun 1930) and Sabrina Richmond (Sep 1841-???). Their other children and aprox DOB's are Malinda - 1867, James A- May 1873, William L - Aug 1875, Della W - Aug 1878, Lura K - Jan 1881, & Sarah S - Nov 1885. Nellie died shortly after giving birth to a set of twin girls on Sep 16 1927. George had already divorced Ines and took the 3 oldest children and raised them by himself.- the infant twins were raised by another family member. The children/grandchildren of Nellie were always treated as equals to Ines's children as far as I have been told.
