WJLS was a radio station which was founded in late 1930's. It was owned by Joe L Smith. W is a designation for stations in the eastern United states. JLS (Joe L. Smith) It was located on the corner of Main and North Kanawha Sts. Have been away from Beckley for over 40 years. May have changed names by now. I workewd there on the weekends while attending Beckley College. PalKay
