Obit from Last Sunday January 11 2004 Chloe L. Stover Chloe L. Stover, 97, of Prosperity, passed away Friday, Jan. 9, 2004, at Heartland of Beckley nursing home. Born Oct. 23, 1906, she was the daughter of the late John and Ollie Teel Aker. Mrs. Stover was a homemaker and a resident of Prosperity for 80 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Prosperity. She was preceded in death by her husband, Deward B. Stov-er Sr.; three sons, Vincent Day, Deward B. Stover Jr. and Virgil R. Stover; three sisters, Donna Russell, Jessie Hanson and Kathryn Soundheimer; and a brother, Lloyd Aker. Survivors include two daughters, Violet Johnson of Lewisburg and Shirley Landers of Prosperity; daughter-in-law, Rose Stover of Gastonia, N.C.; a twin sister, Claudia Cooper of Silver Spring, Md.; 13 grandchildren, Bradley Stover, Gary Stover, Leiha Jane Serge, Gregory Stover, Joe Johnson Jr., James Johnson, Jesse Johnson, Douglas Stover, Jeffrey Stover, Michael Stover Judy McCoy, Libby Laws and Teresa Mason; and 22 great-grandchildren. Service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley, with the Rev. Randall Warden officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Friends may call one hour before service Monday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Arrangements by Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley.
