I have been tracing my Barton line from Franklin County, VA and have found that the youngest daughter, Miram, age 6 was in the home of Martin and Mary Phillips in the 1880 census of Raleigh County. She was listed as "adopted." After the 1880 census, I am unable to find either Martin or Mary, nor can I find Miram. However, I am thinking that perhaps she was married by 1900.
