Monday Morning, February 5, 1973 Glen Daniel Man Has Fatal Attack John Laverty, Jr., 77, of the Dameron section of Glen Daniel was pronounced dead on arrival Saturday afternoon at a Beckley hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack. He was born Sept. 16, 1895, at Rock Creek a son of the late Wilby Harrison and Virginia Catherine Bradford Laverty. He was a member of the Church of Christ and a veteran of World War I. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ollie Rorrer Laverty; one daughter, Mrs. Macy Watkins of Charleston; 27 foster children; one grandchild and four great-grandchildren and several foster grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Clay Chapel Church at Dameron with Rev. John Richardson in charge. Burial will be in the Clay Cemetery at Dameron. The body will be taken from the Armstrong Funeral Home at Whitesville to the residence at 4 p.m. today and to the church one hour prior to services. Pallbearers will be Jim Lucas, Roger Rorrer, Kenneth Murdock, James Harrison Rorrer, Bobby Rorrer, Ricky Giamnerino. Sunday Gazette-Mail, Charleston, W. Va. Sunday Morning, January 8, 1978 Mrs. Mary Laverty LOVINGSTON, Va. - Mrs. Mary Ollie Laverty, 79, of Lovingston, Va., formerly of Glen Daniel, W. Va., died Friday in a Charlottesville hospital after a long illness. Surviving: daughter, Mrs. Macy Watkins of Charleston, W. Va., foster daughter, Mrs. Judy Besseas of Lovingston; sisters, Mrs. Wavie Daniels and Mrs. Margie Jarrell, both of Beckley; 26 foster children; one grandchild, six great-grandchildren. Service will be 2 p.m. Monday in Clay Chapel Church, Glen Daniel, with the Rev. John Richardson officiating. Burial will be in Clay Cemetery, Glen Daniel.
