    2. Clarence: I am not familiar with any of the genealogy programs except FTM. Years ago I used PAF, but preferred FTM. If you click on the EDIT icon underneath the person's information, a screen comes up and you can add the burial information. If you try FTM for a week, I believe you will like it. Another good thing about FTM is that many people use it. If you have questions on how to make reports, there's always some one who can tell you how it is done. Nyla i have it already but didnt like it couldnt find where burials went and i used Sierra generations and then Liberty for 10 years and it was so much better in using . you could always see the grandparents the couple and their children on one page ad i noticed that you can see the same on the 2006 family tree I ve been told to use the one from family search.or or Brothers keeper or Roots Magic that replaced Family Orgins. the reason i didnt like family tree maker was because i sent my tree over to it and it deleted all unknowns, females with no maiden names and males without last names every once in a while i send out messages to the different nets to see if they have the last names of persons or of who certain initials are for Ill contact you next week im having a medical procedure on monday and wed im switching to time warner hd and Phone and road runner so im going to start out new with everything. oh by the way Go Mountaineers Clarence ----- Original Message ----- From: <Njcdp@aol.com> To: <WVRALEIG-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, August 09, 2006 4:24 PM Subject: Re: [WVRALEIG] Turner family tree > > Clarence: Consider getting Family Treemaker 2006. 3. I'll put my two cents in here. I used family tree maker until the 2005 version. I didn't like the changes they made, so I downloaded each program that would allow me to try it for free. I tried, PAF, Brother's Keeper, Rootsmagic, and The Master Genealogist. I played with each program for about a week, and with things I like to do Rootsmagic fit my wants/needs the best. The only way you can tell which program is right for you is to play with them for several days at a minimum, add people, create reports, that is the only way ou are going to find a program that will do what you want/need. What works for one may not work for another.
