    1. [WVRALEIG] Mike's Meandering/Sons of Common Men -- 12 September 2003
    2. The son of a coal miner was from Marfork in Raleigh County. The son of a sharecropper was from Arkansas. The son of a coal miner got out of the mines by joining the military. The son of a sharecropper got out of the fields by doing the same. The son of a coal miner fought in Korea. The son of a sharecropper was a peacetime soldier. The son of a coal miner was wild in his youth and this spilled over into his first years of marriage -- the drinking, gambling and carousing. The son of a sharecropper was addicted to drugs. The son of a coal miner and the son of a sharecropper would eventually walk the straight and narrow, thanks to God and a good woman's unconditional love. The son of a coal miner loved country music. The son of a sharecropper sang it. The son of a coal miner led a private life as Daddy. The son of a sharecropper was "the Man in Black." The son of a coal miner and the son of a sharecropper were distant cousins, but neither knew it. Therein lies the tragedy! Sincerely, Mike Peters [email protected]
