I always find it interesting to look at the detailed topo maps at topozone.com for cemeteries... Often they have cemeteries marked that are hard to find/not used anymore, overgrown, etc. Just a thought. Topozone alerted me to a cemetery for Allens in Lawrence County, Ohio that could help my searches. Question Does anyone here have close access to the Summers Couty{Hinton}Library? Or to a court house there or in Beckley as well. Am trying to find two things. From Beckley and Hinton I would like to find if they have copies of wills of my great grandfather and grandmother Him being Charles W.Trent died Sept of 1912 in Hinton {is burried in Shady Springs cem in Ral. she being; Blanche Shively-Trent-Snead died in 1963 in Beaver WV don't know where shes burried. Second spouse was M.Paris Snead. Ok the second thing is I want to see if the library has copies of the old Railroad magazines of around 1900 to 1913 ,to see if any info is in one about Charles' death as he was a Locomotive engineer and and I need to find any info of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Firemen of that area. Hey Jim- Yes, I research Whitby WV which is in the same neighborhood (Sophia etc etc). The best way to establish the existence of a cemetery using paper is to get some death certs of your kin. Raleigh County has some online records for free up til 1954 and starting at 1917. These certs usually identify where the deceased will be buried. As a heads up, it was not at all uncommon for many certs to have a family name cemetery as the place of burial.
