Hello-- I'm researching the following Raleigh Co. Families--would love to exchange info with other researchers: BOWYER, DAVIS, KERBY, TYREE. Cheers--Marguerite / pontine@nh.ultranet.com
I have two branches of the STONE family. One is beginning with Hiram Stone born ca 1815 in NC or VA. He died 21 Feb. 1863. He married a Margaret (Peggy) b. ca 1811 and died 27 Jan 1863. The other branch begins with Richard Stone b. ca 1812 possibly in Bedford Co., Va. He married Mary Polly Basham, born ca 1817 in Monroe Co VA. This Richard is supposed to be descended from the William Stone, early governor of MD and Thomas Stone who signed the Declaration of Independence. Does anyone have any information on these two families? They merged into one with the married of Rufus Fulton Stone and Rebecca Ann Stone in 1867. Peace, Ethel Stone Adams

We have always believed her father was Dick Stover but today I learned that it is probably William Stover whose wife was Mary P. Martha and Hugh had the following children: Mary Elizabeth, b. 21 May 1853 and who married James Coleman on 29 July 1872; Andrew Jackson, Ruth, Eli, Stella, Dora, and Sylvester, who died 30 Apr 1862 at about 2 years of age. I will be very grateful if anyone can help me with this family. Mary Elizabeth and James Coleman were my grandparents. Peace, Ethel Adams >>
