Sherranlynn, I wish you luck too, and I will pray for your family. May God bless you all, Carole
Carole, Farley is her maiden name she married David Lucas in 1829 so her name was Margaret Farley Lucas. Hope you can find her,but there are so many Farleys. She got married in Giles Co., Va. Thanks for checking. Phyllis
Hi Sherranlynn, My prayers are also with you and your family. I too have been down the road with my daughter having a brain tumor so I have an idea what emotions you are going through. Fortunately everything turned out fine with my daughter and this is fifteen years behind us. Hope your other daughter and baby are doing better. Keep us posted. Take care of yourself you are really important to those children. Phyllis
Phyllis, I will check for Margaret for you; it sounds familiar. Do you know her maiden name? Carole At 10:19 PM 2/9/99 EST, you wrote: >Carole, >I"m looking for a Margaret Farley. Lainie, I am here. Still hoping to find the rest of my Farley clan! The search is narrowing down but I am always on the lookout. I wondered why I hadn't received many messages lately... Hello, ya'll! I'm still trying to hunt down my ATKINSON line. I am trying to find the parents of John S. ATKINSON, b. 17 Oct 1845; d. 02 Mar 1915 in the Leyland (sp?) Mine explosion, Fayette Co., WV. John S. ATKINSON married Mary Martha "Molly" MCGARY on 07 May 1874 in Fayette Co., WV. Molly was a daughter of Joseph MCGARY and Elizabeth DEAN, and was born 20 February 1850 (probably in Greenbrier); d. 26 October 1924 and is buried next to her husband, John, in the cemetery in East Bank, Kanawha Co., WV. Before my mother passed away, she made a notation that stated that she believed John's father might have been Daniel ADKINSON of Raleigh Co., (W)VA. She offered no "proof" of this, however. I did locate the following, but do not know if this is the same Daniel ADKINSON: Raleigh Co., 1850 Census, p. 7, Microfilm page 4A, 10 July 1850. 49 Daniel Adkinson 41 M Farmer 500 Va Sarah Adkinson 33 F Va Eliza Adkinson 10 F Va Ellen Adkinson 7 F Va Maria Adkinson 6 F Va Francis Adkinson twin 4 F Va John Adkinson twin 4 M Va Isaac Adkinson 2 M Va Can anyone identify this family, and tell me more? I'm moving along blindly, as you can imagine! Was my John ATKINSON actually the son of Daniel and Sarah (???) ADKINSON? The ages would be close, but this is all I have to go on, and it's not much. I descend from a son of John S. ATKINSON, Harry Beuran ATKINSON, Sr. "H.B.," my grandfather (b. 1883; d. 1860), married for the first time at age 39, and didn't have my mother until he was 51 years of age (Celia Faith ATKINSON, b. 1934; d. 1995). Can anyone help me figure any of this out? Many thanks in advance! Lainie Hendrix Great-granddaughter of John S. ATKINSON and Molly MCGARY.
I'm here also, Jeff Miller. And I hope folks will take a look at http://members.aol.com/jeff560/beckley1.html which is a recently-improved timeline of history of Beckley and Raleigh County. At 08:10 PM 2/9/99 -0500, you wrote:

Hey Lainie, I'm here, it is quiet lately. Dreama
Hi Everyone, Word got to me, everyone is wondering where I am. I'm sorry not to have been available for the last few weeks. I was trying to get caught up after my move to OH, when my daughter had her baby a month earlier than expected, and complications came with it. Then another daughter was found this past week to have a brain tumor, so I'm been rather busy and unable to even get my mail. Along with Eduora messing up, and loosing all my e-mail addresses. Anyway, I will get caught up as I can. Please be patient. Sherranlynn Listowner, also be patient if you have sent something to be added to the Raleigh Co. Page. I will get to it. I'm not a quiter very often.
