Congratulations Gracie. I'm checking in with WARDEN, BAILEY, HURT, & COOK.
Greetings to Everyone: I collect Raleigh County information, especially about families who show up in the 1850 and later census records. I am a Williams descendant and would love to exchange information on any Williams descendant who has roots in Raleigh County or whose ancestors were in the 1840 Fayette County census. I am interested in the Atha/Athey family, the Dickens family, the Turner family; the Clay family; the Wiseman family; the Arnold family; and any other families connected to these families. Families who were in Patrick County, Virginia, and settled in Raleigh County are also of interest to me. Looking forward to exchanging information. Hello Gracie, Now I see we have another common link. I am keeping an eye on the Clay families and looking for HARPER. Have very little to go on but believe my Harper may connect someway with Joseph Harper. He is possibly a brother. Looking for the parents. Marlene
Seeking information on Hester Terry, b. 1830's in Floyd or Montgomery County, VA; married to Jacob Wright, b. 1830, Floyd Co, VA. They ended up in Raleigh County, WV, and had living with them in Raleigh County in 1860, children, Delilah and Octavia, and Dollie Allen, b. 1790, relationship unknown, from Floyd Co, VA. Any info on the Terry's, Wright's, or Allen's would be appreciated. Caroline WVHAMRICK@aol.com
Hi all! I am Regina Toney Shrewsbury, originally from Beckley, now Berkeley County. My main interest right now is the Stover line. I have been searching for months for info on my ggrandfather, Harrison Stover. He disappeared from Raleigh County in or around the 1920's-30's. If any of you have info on Harrison I would appreciate the help. Thanks! Regina
Sherry I could probably take on either Monroe County or Fayette County. I don't know if I could do two. If not a lot of traffic I could. I have research in these counties and I grow up in Fayette County til we moved to Florida. I know nothing about the other counties except for Raleigh, but that one is taken. Hi Gracie, My name is Karen Bennett Aliff. I am looking for descendants of John and Lucinda Bennett who lived near Bradley. They had children Bessie, Garnet, Norville, Arthur, and Rose, maybe others. I believe they were first living in Greenbrier Co. until at least May of 1900 when my grandfather Garnet was born. I am currently stuck at that point. I want to go back farther but I am not sure if I have the right Lucinda since I know her birthdate, but the marriage records in Greenbrier say she is 2yrs older at the time of marriage. Hi: Sorry that I can't help you, but I was hoping that you might help me. Does you book have any Faubers listed in it. If so would you e-mail me the information. Thanks, Dianna

I don't recall saying that having a map was stupid, and my answer certainly was NOT, on the contrary it will HELP find those secondary roads, and even those dirt roads, for example when I was looking for old cemeteries I got a county map and every dirt road and lane was marked on the map, I stand by my statement, get a road map of the states you research and look for these small towns, mark them with a highlighter, SEE where your folks lived and the proximity to their cousins ~S

Bev, I was in FCWA last fall and went through their Birth and Death ledgers. Some are in the same ledgers and some separate ledgers. I picked out my families with death dates from March 1880 to March 1890. Friendly people there also. Billy Howard Near the sunset side of the Alamo City
Does anyone know if there are published death records that cover the years 1889-1900 for Fayette County. I have Pauline Haga's 1866-1888 Fayette Death records. I need the death date for Reuben James who lived at Beards Fork. Thanks, Bev
