Hi all, I would be interest in Helen and Koppers Coal mines , too. My Father, Paul Graham, worked there in the 1930' & 1940's. My Grandfather James Luke Graham was a carpenter for the Koppers Coal company and was killed in 1943 when he fell off of a roof at Helen. Uncle Howard Greely Blevins was killed there in a mining accident in 1941. Also, I believe my Grandfather Larken Lewis Shrewsbury worked for this company in the 1930's & 1940's. I have Raleigh County roots, too. In fact I get back to my beautiful mountains as often as I can and visit with my cousins. I would love to exchanged information. Hi; Although I am not directly descended from these two,,,, I will still throw in my 2 cents worth.... :) I have been hoping we could prove that John B's wife was Sarah Standley because if she was, then she would have been the sister of my Massea Standley. I am descended from Obediah Stover(which we beleive was the son of Jacob Stover and Sallie McGhee) and Massea Standley twice. Through their son Lewis Stover who was md to Nancy Scott Through their son William who was md to Elizabeth Wriston Lewis' daughter Sabie was md to William's son Ashford Hall Stover and they were my g-grandparents.. I am interested in Baileys because they are cousins and have married several times into my direct line families, and because I do have a direct Bailey line, but it's back further than Raleigh co and as yet I havn't found a connection with them and the Raleigh Co Baileys, but it is possible. :) Gracie
