    3. > You say Sarah Stover d/o Obediah, was she married, or singel at the time? > Hi; The 1860 and the 1870 Raleigh Co censuses lists Sarah as a spinster. In 1850, Sarah is living with Massea Stover (wife of Obediah Stover) So Sarah was the daughter of Obediah Stover and Massea Standley. And she was still unmarried in 1870. > Would Obediah be the brother to Linville's father or was Sarah married to > that brother? I beleive that Linville, who md Margaret J Kincaid and his brother Ashford were the sons of William Stover and Elizabeth Wriston. William Stover was the son of Obediah, according to William's death record in 1857. Obediah died before 1840. But, I can't prove yet that Linville and Ashford were children of William Stover and Elizabeth Wriston,,, > Trying to make sense of it too. I have been trying to make sense of it for a long time,. 2. Katie, I noticed your response about the Buzzard family. I live in Putnam Co. and have a copy of the 1850 census for this county. I thought I would pass along the information on the Buzzard family in case you didn't have it. The following information is given on this census: (Names and ages) Henry Buzzard (27) Hannah Buzzard (28) (Henry and Hannah are in the same household) Martin Buzzard (24) Rhody Buzzard (24) Leonard Buzzard (2) (Martin, Rhody, and Leonard are in the same household) Nancy Buzzard (53) Anna Buzzard (23) (Nancy and Anna are in the same household) These are all of the people listed in the Buzzard family this census. If anyone would need for me to check the 1850 Putnam Co census for family members, I would be glad to do it. Please be patient with my replies. Email me at LSTOVERWV@aol.com Lynn Coiner Stover

My grandfather was born in Raleigh county WV in 1904 but Leonard was born in Putnam county about 1848. I have many others in my data base if you would like to share....Have a good night, katie

Because it does say Geneva Margaret Cook in the Raleigh Co Marriages by Turner. BUT, with transcribed records like that, sometimes mistakes are made and you end up having to double check on them. :) Harrison had 2 sisters, Virgie who was married to a > Williams, and Lockie who was married to a Wriston. I have a Virgie Lee Stover who md Ashford Anderson Williams on 14 Oct 1910 in Raleigh Co Marraiges by Turner. I didnt' know where to put her though as no parents were listed, so now I can link her up to the parents. :) Same with a Lockie M Stover md to William Henry Wriston on 10 Aug 1910 in Raligh Co Marraiges.... So another one I can link up thanks to you. I don't know where to link up William Wriston yet though. I am also a direct Wriston descendant but don't have them all of course. Also, do you have the book > that was done on the history of Workman's Creek Methodist Church? 3. Hi; I have 2 Otis Stovers. One was born 8 Oct 1861 and was married to Geneva Margaret Cook from Wyoming Co. Parents of ythis Otis Stover were Silas Stover and Mary Jane Workman. Is this the right one? I don't have any children for Otis and Geneva I am afraid.. It is starting to seem like many of the Stovers were mysteries and are hard to run down.. I am still trying to find where and when my g-grandparents Ashford Hall Stover and Sabie Stover died so I can find more about them, especially proof of who Ashford's parents were.... What I have is circumstantial evidence on his parents... And I have been unable to find any of my grandfather's siblings.... It seems like I know more about the rest of the stover family and not much on my more immediate ones. I will keep my eyes open for Harrison. I save everything(although I am way behind on getting them all sorted) and also save the names of who is looking for who, in the hopes that one day we will get these mysteries solved, Gracie RShrew4733@aol.com wrote: > > Gracie, > > The Harrison I am researching was born on June 14, 1895 and was the son of > Otis Stover and Geneva Rose.
