Hi Guys I have a Dora Mae Boone, born 25 Mar 1905, in Blue Jay, WVA ( I think that is in Raleigh County). Her parents were Robert Andrew Boone and Madora Alice Gill. She married Early Bailey Moten and they had two children: Alice Mae and Earl Ray. Does anyone know of the Boone family and can steer me in the right direct for them. Thanks Sandy Moten

hi Whitten Early Williams, born Nov 1896 and md to Emma Frances Stover, who was born 6 Feb 1901 Her father was Moses Stover-no wife listed. I have two Moses Stovers in my database. One was born abt 1830, son of Obediah Stover and Massea Stanley The other I have a Mosea Stover,(s/o Andrew Stover and Su Etta Reynolds) born 1888 and md to Unice Williams Neither of these seems the right age to be the father of Emma Frances Stover. Can anyone help with these Stovers and the family of Whitten Early Williams?? Gracie, do you have an address for subscribing to Goldenseal magazine?? thanks, Glen -----Original Message----- From: Gracie Stover [SMTP:ggracie@feist.com] Sent: Thursday, April 08, 1999 3:49 PM To: WVRALEIG-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Coal Mine War Stories Hi; The WV Coal Site at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~wvcoal/ now has some articles about the mining wars....Goldenseal magazine (editor: John Lilly) has published a booklet with stories about the mine wars that have been published in their magazine over the years. They have been very helpful in getting permission from the authors of these articles so I could put them at the site. They even wrote to the different authors and got signed permission slips for me... They didn't find all the authors, but the ones they did find make for some interesting reading. I just uploaded the rest of them today and hope you guys will enjoy these as much as me... :) If you find any mistakes, let me know, Gracie -- Genealogy Sites: Mine: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Ranch/1322/ Norfolk Co, VA: http://members.spree.com/sip/graciestover/norfolk/index.htm Gilmer Co, WV: http://www.rootsweb.org/~wvgilmer/ West Virginia Coal: http://www.rootsweb.com/~wvcoal/ ************************************************* Mailing Lists: Stovers: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Ranch/1322/stovemail.html Allens: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Ranch/1322/allen/mail.html Norfolk Co, VA: http://members.spree.com/sip/graciestover/norfolk/index.htm Gilmer Co, WV:http://www.rootsweb.org/~wvgilmer/ ************************************************* Gracie's World: http://www.graciesworld.com Arts and Crafts: http://www.graciesworld.com/arts.html FREE Home Office: http://www.myfreeoffice.com/gracie/ FREE Web Lotto: http://ez-lotto.com/playticket.cgi?M9760"

Hi Marcia, I have the set of books "A New River Heritage", Volumes 1-4, by William Sanders. In Volume 4, page 34, there is a listing for the Tom LILLY Cemetery, Flat Top Mountain at entrance of Winterplace Ski Resort. I'm not sure if this is a complete inventory of this cemetery, but there are *no* listings for the MEADOR surname. Hello Everyone, Does anyone have a book containing the Tom LILLY cemetary in Ghent, Raleigh Co, WV., listings? I need the DATE of death of my grandfather Emery Meador, d. 1939, to get a death certificate and also the obit and newspaper article on his death, if any. I would appreciate any help with this. Thanks, Marcia Green Hilton
I am being told that James W. was alive after 1890. That he went by James Edward Moten Does anyone out there have access to these records for Raleigh County to see if he was listed. I was also told that he had married. He might not be listed with Lucy. Might be looking as well for Divorce Papers for James W. or James Edward Moten. I still feel that I need to go with the 1890 Census which list Lucy as a widow. which should mean that he had died before 1890. That would had been checked out by the Government, if she had applied for a Pension. She would had been in trouble with the Government. But then I guess that it happens today, but it is easier today. Sandy
Hello folks! Hope everyone had a great Easter weekend! I wanted to take a minute and congratulate Mischelle Harpster and Rebecca Lilly for winning the Archives submission contest. Mischelle submitted the most files and Rebecca submitted the single largest file. Thank you both for your submissions and I hope you will enjoy your books! My sincere thanks to everyone who submitted data during March and I hope you all will continue to make submissions - the Archives page is really growing, but we can always use more! Also, I am looking for someone to be an active co-coordinator for the Raleigh Co. GenWeb site. A basic knowledge of HTML would be very helpful, as well as knowing how to transfer files using an FTP program. Please e-mail me if you are interested or would like additional details. Thanks! Melissa -- Melissa Bailey Duggins Raleigh County, WV GenWeb County Coordinator http://www.rootsweb.com/~wvraleig/ E-Mail: mduggins@lexcominc.net Please consider submitting one piece of data to the Raleigh County Archives - http://www.rootsweb.com/usgenweb/wv/raleigh.htm
Hi Guys I finally got connected here at home again. Didn't realize that I had been disconnected. Did anyone write me about Lucy Sowder. Sandy Cocoa, Florida
Hi Everyone, I am up and runing again after the Virus. I was told that Lucy (Sowder) Moten was buried in the Williams Cemetery in Beckley, West Virginia Not knowing what name she would had been buried under her full name was Lucinda "Lucy" Marie Sowder (Moten) I wasn't told when she died. Could someone please check and see if you can locate the information on this and the dates when she was born and died on. Then I can go to the right county that she may have died in and get the information. She may have died in Raleigh County, not sure with the direction that he gave me over the phone of where the house was that she died in. Thanks Guys, Sandy Cocoa, Florida >
