Hi; Lincoln Massey was the grandfather of my step-father. He was from Boone Co, WV; but his son Abe(Dad's) father lived in Raleigh Co and married Della Sparks. In the 1880 Boone Co census is the following: Wilmoth Massey, age 54; children: Ellen, 21; Alice, 16; Lincoln, 14; and William, 12 (Does anyone know if Wilmoth is a man's or womans' name?) In 1910 (Boone Co)- Lincoln Massey, age 43; wife-Sarah, age 29; children: Oliver, age 18; Edgar, 17; Diddle, 14; Aubri, 10 In 1920 (Boone or Raleigh Co)- Lincoln Massey, age 63; wife-Sarah, age 40. A big age difference in 1910 and 1920, but I think it's the same person because I havn't found another Lincoln Massey anywhere. In 1920, I am not sure if this Sarah is his first wife Sarah with him. His second wife was Sarah Blankenship. I don't know when he left the first Sarah and married Sarah Blankenship. If anyone has anything on this Massey family, please email me. I have been looking for him for my step-dad and my half-siblings for quite a while now.... :) Thank you, Gracie -- Genealogy Sites: Mine: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Ranch/1322/ Norfolk Co, VA: http://members.spree.com/sip/graciestover/norfolk/index.htm Gilmer Co, WV: http://www.rootsweb.org/~wvgilmer/ West Virginia Coal: http://www.rootsweb.com/~wvcoal/ ************************************************* Mailing Lists: Stovers: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Ranch/1322/stovemail.html Allens: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Ranch/1322/allen/mail.html Norfolk Co, VA: http://members.spree.com/sip/graciestover/norfolk/index.htm Gilmer Co, WV:http://www.rootsweb.org/~wvgilmer/ ************************************************* Gracie's World: http://www.graciesworld.com Arts and Crafts: http://www.graciesworld.com/arts.html FREE Home Office: http://www.myfreeoffice.com/gracie/ FREE Web Lotto: http://ez-lotto.com/playticket.cgi?M9760"

I would also like to announce that Sandy Spradling has volunteered to be the WV Raleigh GenWeb site's co-coordinator. Sandy is in the learning stage right now but I would like to thank her for volunteering! Changes have also been made to the Raleigh site and additional resource information added to help you in your searches. Of particular interest is a new page on researching at the WV State Archives at Charleston. I was astounded at the information available on microfilm for Raleigh County and have listed what records they have available. If you have wondered exactly what was in the Smith-Riffe Collection, there is now a link to a categorized listing of what is available in that collection. I have also added a map of Raleigh County from 1895. Warning - the file size for this map is huge so it may take awhile for the page to load. I still found it worth the wait but would suggest checking that during "non-peak" hours. Hope you all find something helpful and happy hunting! ~Melissa -- Melissa Bailey Duggins Raleigh County, WV GenWeb County Coordinator http://www.rootsweb.com/~wvraleig/ E-Mail: mduggins@lexcominc.net Please consider submitting one piece of data to the Raleigh County Archives http://www.rootsweb.com/usgenweb/wv/raleigh.htm

Sandy, Don't know if anyone answered you personally, but there are probably several Williams cemeteries in Raleigh County. My family is buried in the Williams Cemetery at White Oak. I'm sure there must be a Williams cemetery also for the descendants of Dave Williams. Might not be a bad idea to ask the person who gave you that information to tell you a little more specifically which cemetery they were talking about. ~Melissa Moten Sandra K wrote: > Hi Guys > > I sent out a message about the time that we had so much trouble with the > viruses. Hi Guys I sent out a message about the time that we had so much trouble with the viruses. The company shut down our e-mail system and I am not sure if anyone answer it and I just didn't get it because it was bounced or what. I was told then that Lucy was buried in the Williams Cemetery in Beckley, West Virginia. Can someone tell me where that is? Is there a listing for it? Was going to try and get a telephone number for it this weekend unless it just a small place. Might have to call a funeral home if could get a telephone number for it. I have a old telephone book that I picked up in Hinton, two years ago, I think it has Beckley in it. She went by Lucy M. Moten Her marriage Certificate was Lucinda M. Sowder The Sowder Family History has her as Lucinda "Lucy" Marie Sowder. Marriages on the New River, has her as Lucinda Mary Sower. I don't know if she died in Summers or Raleigh County. I have also been told that James did not die before 1890. That he was alive into the 1900's and that he remarried. He was going by James Edward Moten (The story seem to thicken as time goes on.) If you find her, please let me know. Thanks for any help, it is greatly appreciated. Sandy Cocoa, Florida
