    1. [WVRALEIG] Moles- Wriston families
    2. Who was the James Wriston that married Rebecca Moles? I don't believe that it is the James Wriston who is a son of Naomi & Zacariah Wriston, since and earlier email states that James Wriston "Good Jim" raised his brothers & sisters. I think most of Naomi & Zac children were grown before they died . anita

Some seems to think so, and if so then to whom? Dee: Nice to hear from you. Like you, I have read somewhere (can't remember where though) that the Daniel Shumate that married Sarah Ann James was married another time. Looking into it a little further, it doesn't seem possible. The Daniel Shumate that married Sarah Ann James was born circa 1734 & was married to Sarah Ann James circa 1748. Since he was about 15 when he married Sarah, we can probably safely say that he wasn't married prior to that. This Daniel Shumate died in 1806 & from his will comes the following: "I give & bequeath to my beloved wife Sarah Ann Shumate ..." This would be proof that he never married after Sarah Ann James. But with all the Daniels in this family, I never say never. I remain open to all possibilities. Thanks for the query. Sincerely, Mike Peters [email protected]

I have seen both men listed on descendant's charts. With regard to the DAR/SAR, it really doesn't matter. If you relate to the son, you relate to the father. 1 Daniel Shumate b: ca 1734 Prince William Co VA d: 1806 .. +Sarah Ann James ... 2 Daniel Shumate b 1: 14 Jun 1749 Fauquier Co VA b 2: 14 Jul 1751 Prince William Co VA b 3: 14 Jun 1755 Prince William Co (now Fauquier Co) VA d: 19 Jul 1826 Monroe Co VA ....... +Millicent "Milly" Callison b: 5 Oct 1758 Possibly Rich Creek, Giles Co VA d: 22 May 1841 VA Father: Isaac Callison, Rev Thank you for your time in this matter. 1. [WVRALEIG] Shumate
    2. Thanks you for all of those who responded to my Shumate query. In conclusion, the Daniel Shumate that married Millicent Callison is the DAR patriot & the Roman Numerals are placed behind the Daniels according to their birth, the oldest being number I. This system would make the Daniel that married Millicent Callison number IV. Much obliged! Sincerely, Mike Peters [email protected]
