Hello fellow Prestonian researchers: about 2 years ago, someone on this list was gracious enough to send me directions to Van Verth / Nordeck Cemetery. I LOST them. I tried to get there today from memory, coming from Kingwood, I went through Terra Alta and made a right at Delanos Furniture Store, I just came to Freeport Church and the road turned into a one lane gravel road that had 3 forks. Bev, These are the directions I wrote down in 1990 and may not be current. >From Terra Alta: Rt. 7 east to just before Hopemont State Hosp., turn right at Delano's Furniture (CR 88), cross railroad tracks, follow main road which becomes CR 94 (CR 88 bears off to the right), continue on main road to intersection with CR 104/96 (Freeport church will be on right), go right on CR 96 .5 mile to third gate (locked) on left side of road, cemetery is on this farm which is the site of heavy strip mining. NOTE: Mrs. Roger L. (Janet) Bohon 789-6397 has key to gate. She lives on right side of CR 104 at intersection with CR 94.
