They were the infamous Indian fighters...but at least some went over to the Beverly area. I am thinking there is a connection to the famous Indian figher family (John, William, David) and the Thomas White family from around Beverly (sons William Thomas and David). The other Whites around Beverly seem connected to the Indian fighter family (Jacob, Isaac [who was the son of John in the Indian fighter family]). And at least John Wayland (who wrote histories of Shenandoah and Rockingham Counties) thought that a William White who moved to Shenandoah County from Monocacy, MD in 1734 was related to the Indian fighter family of Whites. Thomas White, from around Beverly seems to be shrouded in family stories that can not be substantiated. Rumor has it that he came from England and was married to a servant or a daughter of a servant named Abigail Grubb. From all of that story, w! e know for a fact that he was married to an Abigail for sure from will of about 1800...from which we can obtain his sons' names. Information at this period is so rare and elusive that this family is amazingly frustrating!!! Does anyone have ANYTHING on ANY White from the 1700s in Randolph, Monongalia, Shenandoah, Hardy or ANYWHERE in that area???" There are some White postings on the site and plenty of Metheny.
