The one I'm most familiar with is on the western side of Cheat Lake. I-48 runs up the mountain from Monongalia County into Preston County. I've always heard it called Cheat Mountain. Cooper Rock State Park is a popular picnic area on top of the mountain and has been for many years, way before it even became a park. The little town of Pisgah is also located on to top the mountain. Bruceton Mills is located about 6 miles on the other side of the mountain. Many of my ancestors and relatives (Haines, Wolfe, Darnell) were/are from around there. Good luck in your search.
