    2. Mr Wolfe Perhaps we should compare notes. We may (or may not as these things go) be distantly related. I am a direct descendant of George Hardman who founded and ran Hardman Furnace near Independence as well as the Gladesville Furnace. His son, Hans Roland Hardman, my great grandfather, ran several mills in the area before moving to McKeesport, PA with the entire family in the early 1890's. My grandfather, George Walter Hardman, born and raised in Preston County, married the daughter of a local Baptist preacher, Joseph Clark.
