Pat H., Could you tell me about your Cupp family? I am descended from William H. Cupp who was born in Dec of 1853 and lived with the family of James M. Carroll in 1860. Then before the 1870 census, he ran away from that household. I have never discovered why he was not in a Cupp family. He must have been orphaned or his mother was not married. I seem to recall that a Cupp girl was in a similar situation in 1860. Would that have been your Cupp ancestor? My William married Anna Hannigan in 1873 in Barbour County. Prior to 1900 they moved to Tyler Co. His death record states that his father was John and mother Lucinda. I found a singe Lucinda, d/o single Susannah whose father was John but never found a couple with the names John and Lucinda. I am still hoping to find his parents. JoAnn Cupp Grass Valley, CA
