My ancestor Gilbert Walter Collins was born in Nov 1881 in Bruceton Mills, and I'm having very little luck tracking his family due to the loss of the 1890 census. I saw a couple of references in ancestry.com family trees to a "Bert" Collins who was the son of an Otho Collins. Does anyone have any information that can confirm or deny that my Gilbert is/isn't this "Bert"? DOUGLAS E. COLLINS

Doug, I tried looking for Gilbert Walter Collins (using various forms of the names) b. 1881 in WV but had no luck finding him. Do have any other leads; names of siblings, did he marry? There is a death certificate for Walter Collins but he was born May 1881. He died in Bruceton Mills, WV. Do you know if the man you are looking for stayed in the area his entire life?
