1. Re: [WV Preston County] Cemeteries
2. Dianne, You got down RT 50 W if you are heading from DC area or above DC taking it to Marquess Rd. which is on left just abt 500 yards after you pass the Fellowsville State Park. Next you proceed up Marquess Rd. until you see a church and white building . The church now has a fence around the graveyard. I knew the caretaker of the cemetery it used to be Archie WOLFE who is now deceased. The cemetery records the last time I heard was held by one of his daughter...I believe she is the one who reside in the house which is blue right behind the Mt Israel Church....Archie WOLFE took it over from his brother Aubrey WOLFE who had it prior to this...He was the elder brother to Archie. I grew up from infancy to age 15 yrs old only living 5 houses below their farm remember Archie and Aubrey talking abt the old cemetery and going out to dig a grave and if they hit a body they would move to another area in the old section of the grave in the old days when the graveyard was ran by their father. I have the history on this church erection somewhere in my file cabinet. I hope this helps.........Donna Donna's Tombstone Project updates 10/29 Researching......Wolf, Balliet, Bolyard, Riley, Goff, Stone, Pratt,, Ketterman, Ryllie, Thomas, Sidwell and many more in Preston Co, WV, York Co, Pa, Pittsburgh, Pa, Shenandoah Co, Va, Germany,& Lorainne, France..Working on a Book of all my SURNAMES in the above counties PLUS I am trying to do a digtal tombstone CD project of all Preston, Berkeley, & Jefferson Counties..D
