I just found these names from the Morton's History of Preston County someone sent me. I have a John Dennis that was born in Germany. The year I'm not sure of. He was my grandmother father. My grandmother was born in 1873 in Washington County, PA, not far from Preston County, W.VA. Listed also on her death certificate is her mother Jessie White. She had 3 sisters and one of the sister's death certificate listed George Dennis as the father and Mae Burns as the mother. I was told that many Dennis families named their boys John and then they used their middle names. Big puzzle. I sure would like to make some progress on this branch. My father is 89 and in a nursing home and I would love to find out something about this mother's family for him. Carol
