Alice, At last I have copies of the Preston newspapers for Sept.-Oct. 1886. You were hoping that an obit for John Ringer might give information about Catherine (Ringer) Teets. Although obits weren't usually segregated and consisted of only a sentence or two generally, and although I've searched every line, there is no obit for John Ringer, 1814-15 Sept. 1886 in either the Journal or Argus. Not every community in the county had a newspaper correspondent. It's probable that the community where John lived didn't have one at that time. Wish I had a better answer, especially since you have shared so generously. Janice Alice Eary wrote: > That was interesting, to say the least. Janice, thank you so much for your efforts. At least I know two places where the information is not located (Journal and Argus). Perhaps the family will turn up somewhere when least expected.
