Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/IEC.2ACE/535.544 Message Board Post: daniel mccollum is my 4th great grandfather. he married sarah moore in 1784. captain daniel was an ensign in K Company, 1st Battalion, York Co., "Flying Camp", Long Island in 1776; He served in the Battle of Long Island and was present at the surrender of Fort Washington. In the War of 1812 he was with the 104th regiment. He had a daughter, Hannah who was married to my 3rd great grandfather, Smith Wheeler. Daniel's father was James McCollum born 1725 and his mother was Elizabeth Parker born 1730. One of my relatives did an extensive search and this is the info she obtained. Daniel died in 1842 in w.va. Sarah died 7/10/1841. Hannah lived in Preston Co. W.Va. as well as Daniel. I hope this is of some help to you. You can e-mail me, if you would like to.
