    2. This may provide clues for some researchers. Keep in mind that Morton has been found to have made errors. Some of these may be ancestors to Preston families. P. stands for Palatinate province, on the river Rhine, and W. for Wurtemburg. When two or more of the same name are mentioned, they arrived in the same vessel. In the cases of such names as Cress, Dill, Miller, Smith, Wetzel, and Wolff, there were arrivals in various years and identification would be very uncertain. The Wotring residence at Finstingen (Fenetrange) was only three or four miles from Diedendorf.
