Linda, Preston County West Virginia History 1979 (reprinted 2001) by the Preston County Historical Society names eight children of Evan & Hannah (Graham) Jenkins. As this book is still being sold, I will only say that John and Jonathan Jenkins are included in the list of their children; that is, there was both a John and a Jonathan in this family. The 1850 census of Preston Co includes #1606-1606 Evan & Hannah Jenkins hh, #1607-1607 Jonathan & Mary Ann Jenkins hh and #1616-1616 John & Eliza Jenkins hh. Jonathan Jenkins (died 1864) is buried very near to Evan & Hanna Jenkins in the Jenkins cemetery. It appears from available sources that Jonathan Jenkins was the son of Evan & Hannah (Graham) Jenkins. Edward Thorp King's Some Early Families in Grant and Pleasant Districts, Preston County, West Virginia states on page 41 that Albert F King married Hester A Jenkins born Apr 18, 1823, daughter of Evan & Hannah (Graham) Jenkins. Also, on page 179 is the cemetery record for Hanna, daughter of Evan and Hanna Jenkins, who died at age 13. This would make a ninth child for them. Hope this helps.
