Barbara, The Preston Co courthouse and records burned in 1869. Duplicate birth, death and marriage records 1853-60 were sent to Richmond VA prior to the courthouse fire. There are no official marriage records for 1836. Other than the records of the Lutheran church, I know of no Preston Co church records for the 1830's. The History of Preston County West Virginia Vol I by Oren F Morton, 1914 has information on the Gandy family but not the date of marriage for Owen. On page 433, he states that Amos Gandy, son of Samuel, married (1) Mary Menear, (2) Susan Moore and that Owen Gandy, son of Amos & Mary (Menear) Gandy, married Drusilla? Jefferys and moved to Indiana ca 1852.
