In my files, I don't see a Struges among the Sterling connections. However, James S. Sterling's mother was from Somerset Co., Pa. where I have seen the surname Sturgis (variants). I can't find it now but I think I have seen reference to a minister named Phineas Strugis. A number of children were named for ministers, some of them for the minister that married the parents. There is some differing information on the father of Andrew Sterling. Albert Mack's Sterling Genealogy gives his name as Robert but I have also seen Jeremiah. The mother appears to be Joanna in all of the references and Andrew had a daughter Joanna. I would also like to know the name of the first wife of Andrew.
