RE: Stemples and Smiths.... My boyfriend's mother is a Stemple. I'll give you the information I have gathered so far in tracing her line as she is related to Daniel Stemple and Susanna Smith...they are her great great grandparents... Her line stemming off of Daniel's son, Daniel S. Stemple. Starting with Daniel who was born 14 Apr 1795 in Aurora, Preston County,West Virginia and was christened on 14 Aug 1795 in Aurora, Monongalia Co, Virginia. He married Susanna Smith who was b. 1799 in Maryland. Their children were all born in Preston, Virginia Margaret Stemple b. 1824 Samuel Stemple b. 1826 Daniel S. Stemple b. 25 Sep 1831 d. 14 Sep 1905 Belinda Stemple b. 1833 Amy Catherine Stemple b. 1835 Fanny Stemple b. 1836 Susannah Stemple b. 1838 John F. Stemple b. 1841 Their son, Daniel S. Stemple married Sarah Ann Waltz on 8 Oct. 1858. Sarah was b. 18 Feb 1839. Out of their marriage they had 12 children - Sarah b. 1859, Camiel b. 1861, James b. 1862, Philip b. 1864, Amanda b. 1866, Amelia b. 1868, Sherman Ulysses b. 1869, Oliver b. 1871, Emma b. 1873, George W. b. 1875, William b. 1876, and Wesley b. between 1879/1880. All children were born in Tuscarawas, Ohio. Wesley, Daniel's son grew and later had Raymond Stemple, who is my boyfriend's grandfather (his mother's father).
