    3. Yes! That's what my book says, too. But, the information I sent out originally is also there and that his son served as a substitute because he was called to the Va Militia. Is that all it says in your book? I don't know where the other information came from unless it is from New Jersey. Thanks for your information. 2. Susie, This is ALL the information that is in the book: TICHINAL, DAVID Service--Virginia Va. No. 6812 No. S. 7727 Born in Morris Township, New Jersey, October 16, 1764; resided in New Jersey until 1780; resided in Hampshire County, Virginia, for two or three years; then in Harrison County, Virginia, and died in Allegheny County, Maryland, in 1854. Soldier enlisted in New Jersey in 1780 and served nine months under Captain Richardson and McCarty in the army of General Green on guard duty. His certificate of service in the militia as a substitute for his father, Moses Tichinal, dated March 12, 1782, and signed by Captain Isaac Parsons, is filed at the War Department. Pension was granted in Harrison County, in 1833. Supporting data was filed by J. Copin, R. Moore, H. Gross, and John Smith. It appears that David Tichinal served in the VA Militia in place of his father, Moses. The National Archives would have record of Moses Tichinal's service in the NJ Militia. He is not included as a Revolutionary War soldier in the book by Ross B Johnston. Roy Lockhart On Sat, 9 Mar 2002 17:27:26 -0800 "youngl" <youngl@rosenet.net> writes: >Yes!
