Hi, Janice, Seems I've shared this with you at an earlier point but maybe someone else will spark on this and we'll both end up with something more. I have part of an article and a photo of this John Jennings in his later life. Looks like he was blind and very very old. Some of his descendants lived in Moatsville, Barbour Co., just south of Taylor and near the Preston Co. border. This is where he was buried. Somewhere I have a photo of his recently placed grave marker with, I believe, a DAR notation. According to the article, John Jenning's brother, Isaiah used the surname of Janes. I've noted that Jennings in England might have been Jeannes. And, I've been told that one of the Jennings who used Janes had said that she was "returning" to their original surname. I'm interested in both the JANES and JENNINGS surnames as I have two ancestors born 1735-1755 whose maiden names were Janes and Jennings, respectively, and later lived in the area of the SW PA - NW VA border circa 1800. Regards, Jane

    3. Thanks for coming back, Jane. I remember our previous correspondence. I've been hoping that there are more than two of us trying to untangle this knot.
