The 1900 Census for Michigan. This is for Coldwater, Branch Michigan I came across The Michigan State Public School which seems to be some type of boarding school or children's home. In it there are listings of several hunderd children first and last names with dates of birth and ages yet all have place of birth and parents as being "UNKNOWN" and all are "Wards" of the school. Among them I had found Fred Nordeck, born abt.1889 at the time of Census he was 11, birthplace unknown, parents both unknown. Now I know Fred had parents but I have been at a loss of finding any kind of birth record or even anything after the 1900 Census on him. I have written to the local paper there and even to the adoption agencies around the area with no response. If Anyone has any idea let me know as for now he is a loose end in the family history.
