    1. Re: [WV Preston County] UB church records and/or info
    2. Barb, Catherine Nicola Cress was my GGGAunt. I have from the Michael Criss history: Thomas Jefferson Criss, a son of Jacob and Susanna (Jeffers) Cress, was born August 11, 1808 in Preston County, VA (WV), and died there August 15, 1838. He married Catherine Willett Nicola December 31, 1829. Catherine, a daughter of Jacob and Catherine (Willett) Nicola, was born August 28, 1809 in Preston County and died there July 09, 1889. Children of Thomas Jefferson and Catherine (Nicola ) Criss. 309. (1). Jacob Nicola b.Jul 0, 1830 d. 1908 m. Lucinda Cale 310. (2). Jeremiah b.Jan 31 1832 m. Emma J. -------- 311. (3). Lavina b. 1833 m. Henry Smith 312. (4). Emmauel b. 1834 313. (5). Louisa b. 1837 314. (6). Suzanna b. 183 It makes sense that she remarried after 1838 when TJCress died. I also have the following: Notes for CATHERINE WILLETT NICOLA: The death information can be found at Kingwood, Preston Co., WV, book 11868-1920, page G-11, line 10 [lists age at death as 79 years 11 months 10 days cause: old age]. which puts her birth as August 1, 1809. More About CATHERINE WILLETT NICOLA: Burial: Fortney Cemetery near Mt. Nebo, Preston Co., WV. Census: 1850, Preston County, Age 41 You might find her in the 1850 census.
