DeWitt's parents was work done by Vernie DeWitt of Hoyes, Maryland in the 1930's. Her husband was a direct descendent of John DeWitt, who was a brother of Richard DeWitt. Richard also had a brother named Barney who was born in 1814 in Kingwood, and died abt 1890 in Colorado, and he also had a son named Barney. Barnabus was his first name. He was born in May 1831 and his wife Sarah was born in June 1841.
