    1. Re: [WV Preston County] Preston County resident property deed sold on April 8th, 1887?
    2. Susie, I recognized the name Zaccheus Gibson as being in one of the miscellaneous obituaries I copied from back issues of the Preston County Journal that are on microfilm. The full obituary is below and is exactly as it appears in the newspaper including errors the typesetter made. I'm not related to nor am I researching the Gibson family. Hope this information helps in your research. Roy Lockhart The Preston County Journal Kingwood, West Virginia Thursday, March 14, 1907 Vol. XLI. No. 28. Whole No. 2123. Page 2, Column 6. In Memoriam. On Sunday morning Feb. 17, 1907 death came quietly into the home of Mrs. James W .Gibson and family and took from them a loving husband a kind and affectionate father and claimed as his own. James W. Gibson was born near Harmony Grove August 4, 1844 and died near Valley Point Feb. 17, 1907, therefore he was sixty-two years, six months and thirteen days of age. For the past seven years he had suffered untold agony, but had so far this winter kept his usual health until on Thursday noon pneumonia fever set in and he became critically ill and as the darkness of night was scatter- ing o'er the world and the gleaming light of morning was filling its place at 6 a. m. of that lovely Sunday morning, the angel of Death entered the portals of a happy home and came to own him o'er death's chilly waters and to release a waiting soul from its mortal dust. For him there will be no more sick- ness, sorrow or death, and when his loved ones are called to cross the icy waters between the gateway of earth and heaven he will be waiting to welcome them on the other shore-- Gone, but not forgotton; Gone, only on before; Gone to join the angels In the bright forever more. He was the son of Zaccheus and Nancy Gibson and spent all his life excepting the few short months that he lived near Valley Point, on the home farm near Harmony Grove. Three brothers survive him from his family, Edgar C. of near Masontown, Waitman C. of near Harmony Grove and Y. C. of Mt. Lake Park, Md. On September 22, 1864 he was married to Abigal Jenkins of near Valley Point, and to this union seven children were born, four girls and three boys. Mrs. L. W Morgan of Waynesburg, Pa., Mrs. J. T. Reynolds of Ten Mile, Pa., O. Z. of Bruceton, Misses Dessie and Georgia and S. S. at home yet. Howard who died in infancy. He was converted and joined the M. E. church while young and lived a constant and faithful member until his death. The smile on his face in death surely tells us that "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the Death of his Saints." A short time before he died he requested prayer to be made and told his wife and loved ones he was ready when the summons came. A truly good man has fallen. The funeral services were con- ducted at Sugar Valley by Rev. Holden and assisted by Rev. Rogers of the Albrightsville charge, after which the remains of Bro. Gibson was laid to rest in the cemetery near by to await the dawning of the morn ing when one and all shall awaken. The services were conducted on Tuesday at 11 a. m. in the presence of a large and sympathetic audi- ence, " We weep not as those who have no hope" and as we commit his body to the ground, "Earth to Earth, Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust," we exclaim. Oh! loving husband, kind father, faithful friend, Sleep thou in peace, till on that morn, His Angel God will send to thy release. We loved thee dearly but thou coulds't not stay on Time's green shore; And when we meet thee on that perfect day, we'll love thee more.
