Could someone tell me how I can go about finding a obituary in Preston Co. for: EFFA BELLE MYERS b. September 05, 1883 d. August 17, 1901 in Tunnelton, WV. She is buried at Mountain View Cemetery. I would appreciate some help! Thanks, Cathy www.cathyswebpages.com

Cathy, I have been trying to find an obit for my gggrandmother. who died in 1902. I checked the court house in Kingwood for record of deaths. She was not listed. I checked the microfilm from the Preston County Journal. (Picked up the film, took it to the library to read it, then took the film back to the Journal office.) She wasn't listed anywhere that I found. I think I know when she died, but no verification, or where she died or is buried. Her husband died in 1883 and is buried in Albright cemetery. Had a stone till the flood of 1986, when that whole area was flooded. But no record of stone for her. I live an hour away, so can't get there very often. My next thought is to check records of death in Morgantown WV. (She may have died in a hospital in Morgantown.) Or she may have married again and we don't know the name. Still hunting.
