Is that the area you mean? On County Road 2? I've not seen such a furnace there but am very interested. Could easily drive there and look if you can give me more clues. Is it visible from the road? How far south from the lake? I still cannot help but ask if you might not mean Wharton Furnace which is about eight miles northeast of Patterson Run in Wharton Twp., Fayette Co. It does have a sign and it is visible from the road on which it sits. Regards, Jane
